BGDM Member Films at CAAMFest 2026

For more than four decades, the Center for Asian American Media has been at the forefront of amplifying Asian American stories, building a platform where culture, identity and storytelling intersect. Now in its 44th year, CAAMFest 2026 continues that legacy, bringing together filmmakers, artists and audiences in San Francisco Japantown for a celebration of films that expand and challenge the Asian American canon.

From May 7–10, BGDM members will once again be part of this vibrant cultural moment, with projects screening across the festival that reflect the depth, care and creative vision of our community. CAAMFest is more than a festival. It is a space rooted in community, where stories are not only seen but felt.

If you’re heading to the festival, make sure to check out our Meet the Members collection. It is one of the easiest ways to find fellow Mafiosxs attending and start building connections in real time. It's where future collaborations begin.

And for those wondering how films make their way into a festival like CAAMFest, don’t miss our latest profile featuring documentary programmer Sapana Sakya. She shares insights into her selection process, what resonates right now and how filmmakers can better understand festival strategy. From navigating a shifting documentary landscape to building programs that center community, Sapana shares insight into the values and vision shaping one of the most important festivals for Asian American storytelling.

We are proud to celebrate every Mafiosx bringing their work to CAAMFest this year. Whether you are attending in person or following along from afar, use this guide to discover BGDM member films, support their screenings and show up for the stories that continue to move our communities forward.
