BGDM Member Films at Tribeca 2026

Edwin Flores • June 1, 2026

NYC, get ready. The Mafia is coming.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Tribeca Festival, and once again, BGDM members are showing up in a major way.

For a quarter century, Tribeca has been a home for bold storytelling and one of the most important destinations for documentary filmmakers. It is where emerging voices break through, established artists debut new work, and audiences gather to engage with stories that challenge, educate, and inspire. For nonfiction filmmakers, Tribeca has long been a place where years of labor finally meet an audience.

And this year, the Mafia is right at the center of the conversation.

A remarkable 20 documentary films, including both features and shorts, screening at Tribeca 2026 from June 3 - 14, were directed, produced, edited, shot, scored, or otherwise brought to life by BGDM members.

Behind every selection are years of pitching, fundraising, filming, editing, revising budgets, navigating setbacks, building trust with participants, and holding onto a story long before anyone else could see its potential. Festival selections do not happen overnight. They are the result of persistence, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to telling stories that matter.

That is why we celebrate every Mafiosx represented in this lineup.

These achievements belong to the individual filmmakers whose names appear in the credits, but also to the larger ecosystem of women and gender-expansive filmmakers of color who continue to support one another through every stage of the process. BGDM was built on the belief that our stories deserve to be seen and that our community becomes stronger when we share opportunities, resources, knowledge, and access. Every film selected this year is a reminder of what becomes possible when we invest in one another for the long haul.

Whether you're attending Tribeca for the first time or returning as a festival veteran, we hope you'll use this page as your guide to all things Mafia at the festival. Below you'll find BGDM member films, community gatherings, and opportunities to connect with fellow Mafiosxs throughout the week.

Because festivals are about more than premieres.

They're about finding your people. And there is no better place to start than with the Mafia.
