Biography
Kristina James is a film composer in the Los Angeles area who has written music for numerous scripted and non-scripted short films as well as 3 feature length documentaries. Some of her most recent work includes writing the score for the award winning feature documentary 'First Voice Generation,' as well as writing music for Sesame Street's 'Sesame in Communities projects, as well as contributing music to the hit show 'Outlander' under the team of Bear McCreary. Kristina is the first recipient of The Chimaera Project's film composing mentorship program as a mentee under renowned composer Bear McCreary. In 2020 she was a recognized finalist in the California Independent Film Festival, Film Scoring Competition and was awarded a mentorship under the Marvel Universe's first female film composer, Pinar Toprak. Kristina earned her Film Scoring Certificate from UCLA extension and her Bachelor's in Music Composition from San Francisco State University. Kristina stands firm in the purpose to connect, educate and awaken people through the power of music and storytelling.
