Biography

Elizabeth Ai is a documentary and fiction filmmaker, show creator, author, and alum of Sundance Institute, Berlinale Talents, Center for Asian American Media, Film Independent, Firelight Media, and Women in Film. She’s currently and simultaneously on tour with her documentary feature, New Wave, film companioin book, New Wave: Rebellion and Reinvention in the Vietnamese Diaspora, published by Angel City Press and the Los Angeles Public Library, while developing the dramatic series adaptation.

NEW WAVE logline: A filmmaker on a mission to excavate an untold story of rebellious teens in the electrifying world of 80s Viet new wave in Orange County, California, unexpectedly confronts buried traumas that lead to forgiveness and a new beginning.
