Biography

Krystal Tingle is a Writer, Producer and Director from Miami and based in Los Angeles. Her work explores faith, grief, love, loss and sisterhood. She produced the 2019 short film Spit on the Broom for Simone Leigh’s Guggenheim Exhibition: Loophole of Retreat. The film screened at the 2019 New Orleans Film Festival where it wasawarded the Jury Prize for Best Experimental Short.Tingle also produced Black Composer Trilogy: A Quality of Light which screened at Camden International Film Festival and the New Orleans Film Festival. 
Tingle is a Southern Producers Lab Fellow and a participant in the International Documentary Association Southern Filmmakers Convening. Her work has been supported by California Humanities and Women in Film and Video. Her commercial production includes projects for Showtime, Viceland and TLC.

Active Projects

Development/Pre-Production: Oh Happy Day! a feature length documentary about gospel song that changed the city of Oakland and the world. Supported by California Humanities.
Production: Sunshine & Sandy a documentary short about a widow and her loyal best friend living in the Jamaican countryside.
Development:_ Breadfruit_ based on real life TV pilot about a group of Miami sisters.

Support: We are seeking creative collaborators such as editors and writers. We are also seeking development and ongoing production funding for _Oh Happy Day. _
