Biography
Chandler (she/they) is an arts organizer, therapist, and writer, who employs an integrative approach to holistic care in community organizing. A Black woman, raised with roots in the U.S. South and the West Indies, her heart’s work lies in co-creating spaces of healing, love and imagination that center the intersectional experience of Black, Indigenous, people of color. Prior to their role as the Community Programs Manager at BGDM, Chandler worked at Sundance Institute as the Manager of Impact and Engagement, leading initiatives that supported over 500 independent arts organizations. Alongside her work at BGDM, she is a therapist, social worker and co-founder of People Play, an organization dedicated to curated spaces of joy and play for adults of color.
