Biography
Julia Nacario (siya/they, she) is a 1st Assistant Camera and Director based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Julia freelances in LGBTQIA2S BIPOC spaces and is dedicated to gender expansive expression and community solidarity.
They worked as the director and producer for Painted Ones (2024), a short documentary on the cultural revival of Indigenous Visayan tattooing in Oakland, CA. Painted Ones will premiere as the opening film for the 20th anniversary International Queer Women of Color Film Festival in June 2024. They currently work as the Engagement Coordinator at the Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project.
Julia is a QWOCMAP Film & Freedom Academy fellow and holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in film from Wesleyan University.
