Biography
Lien Do is a Audio Mixing-Recording Engineer, Music Producer, and a professional musician from Sacramento, California now living in San Francisco. Currently, Lien co-owns and runs Different Fur Studios (the oldest recording studio in the Bay Area). They also founded LIEMA, a post audio & film production house, with co-worker Matthew Pereira working on in person and remote projects domestically and internationally. Outside of their in-studio engineer work, Lien is a professor in Post Production Film Audio for the MFA/PHD Graduate School program SOCDOC and BFA Undergraduate School program FDIM at University of California, Santa Cruz. They also are a core member of Sunkissed Productions, a media film collective centering on Queer Vietnamese and Asian American stories. They also engineer and teach at Women’s Audio Mission. Lien has worked with a vast number of clients such as Karri, New York Times, G-Eazy, NBC, Mr. Carmack, Hulu, Cocorosie, and Bobby McFerrin to name a few. Lien has been a featured installation artist at a residency at SFMoma’s Open Space and SOMArts under Sarah Cargill’s Lucid Dreams of the Apocalypse. They continue to act as producer and composer for a number of artistic projects while also releasing experimental electronic music under the personal solo project Leviathe.
