Biography

Yuby Hernandez⠀is an Artist Development Executive with eight years of non-profit management experience. Besides her non-profit work, she has worked for the Gotham Film and Media institute, Tribecca Film Festival, SFFILM, and Associate Produced the Documentary Aftershock. 

She is a New York City Native from Washington Heights and graduated from Wellesley College in 2013, where she received a BA in Biology. She completed a year of service for Repair the World in Baltimore, where she rediscovered her passion for art and storytelling. After moving back to NYC, her work led her to co-direct two short documentaries igniting her passion for film and pushing her to attain her MFA at the School of Visual Arts SocDoc program. 

She is dedicated to serving the community, instilling creativity and perseverance in those she works with and has a passion for the arts. Yuby is delighted to combine her love for film and non-profit work at Ghetto Film School as the Roster Director.

Active Projects

I am currently developing a documentary about how Casabe, a Dominican indigenous flatbread, has survived colonization and continues to make an impact to this day.
