Serena Ajbani

Serena Ajbani⠀is an independent documentary filmmaker, video editor and motion graphics artist whose work explores unseen histories. As a former Producer at AJ+ and WIRED, Serena created work primarily for YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat; she experiments with interactive new media platforms to find innovative, personal methods of engaging audiences. Her work on the AJ+ show Eat This explored the intersection of food and social justice, and was recognized by the Emmy Awards, Webby Awards, Shorty Awards, Hearst Journalism Awards, and James Beard Media Awards. She has been a NeXt Doc Fellow, Berlin Capital Program Fulbright Awardee, and Emerging Producer Fellow at the World Congress for Science and Factual Producers. She is currently accepting freelance video editing and motion graphics opportunities, and her freelance work has screened on The New Yorker, Vimeo’s Stories in Place, BBC, Ms. Magazine and Patreon, among others.
