Biography

Jules Rico (they/them) is a Camera Assistant and emerging Camera Operator based in New York City, and an Associate Member of the Society of Camera Operators (SOC). They specialize in documentary filmmaking, with work rooted in social justice and gender politics. Through a thoughtful, lens-based approach to storytelling, Jules seeks to explore the complexities of identity, power, and lived experience. Their recent credits include the 2025 Tribeca Film selection My Mom Jayne and the 2024 Tribeca selections I’m Your Venus, Guad Gods, and Satisfied, all as 1st AC.

Jules has also demonstrated versatility and adaptability through work as 1st AC on short films, nonprofit art projects, and commercial campaigns. Highlights include the first-ever Super Bowl 2023 Mets advertisement, Going Dark: The Contemporary Figure at the Edge of Visibility for the Guggenheim, and Barilla’s Pasta Day 2024 campaign. As an emerging Camera Operator, Jules brings creative vision and technical skill to documentary projects and live events alike, operating B-Cam on Charles Ross: Where the Earth Meets the Sky, winner of Best Documentary in 2024, and covering major sports events at Citi Field for the 2024 Mets season, UBS Arena for the PWHL’s inaugural season, and Monster Jam 2024.

Whether on set or in the field, Jules combines a sharp eye, steady hand, and collaborative spirit to bring stories to life—ready to contribute heart, hustle, and expertise to the next project.
