Biography
Iliana Garcia is a documentary editor and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. Creating across both short and long form docs, Iliana’s work provides an intimate look into the world of identity, loss and place.
Most recently, Iliana directed and edited A Guide For When Immigrants Become Ancestors (2022), a short essay film about what it means to be a fourth-generation Mexican-Filipino American™. The film premiered at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and has since screened at Slamdance, AAIFF, and OCLIFF.
Her other credits include lead/co-editor work on Benkyodo: The Last Manju Shop in J-Town (2023), Mama Bears (2022; PBS) and To the Future, With Love (2021; POV) and assistant editor work on Delikado (2022; POV), Game Changer (2021; BET) and And She Could Be Next (2020; POV).
