Biography

Martina Abrahams Ilunga⠀is a multimedia storyteller, strategist, and community builder whose work creates pathways to connection, healing, and liberation. An accomplished audio creator, she is eager to tell stories in new formats, including film.

Martina is the founder of the storytelling platform and studio, You Had Me at Black. Their original podcast has been downloaded 1MM times, recognized as a top podcast by IndieWire, and featured in Vanity Fair, Saint Heron, XONecole, and more. Martina and her team also produce immersive audio pieces for clients looking to tell stories in unprecedented ways, including Spotify, Dear Media, and All Above All, to name a few.

Martina is an executive producer and host of NATAL, an independent podcast docuseries about having a baby while Black. Named one of the Best Podcasts of 2020 by Spotify Indiewire, the series has been featured in Vanity Fair, Parents, The Root, Fast Company, and more. Its sophomore season was honored for Best Documentary Podcasts in the 26th⠀Annual Webby Awards.

In a past life, Martina spent nearly a decade in marketing and product roles at tech giants Google and Square. She is a graduate of Georgetown University, and lives in Brooklyn with her babylove.
